Let’s go back in time a little: it’s 2009.
At the time, I worked as Head of Marketing for Tuscany’s own DMO.
Back then, the Tuscany Region spent a large budget building a complete DMO digital ecosystem and promoting the destination in digital spaces. Our goal was to address international digital tourists, inspire them, and finally bring them to Tuscany.
We created the first DMO – owned social media team, made of 15 influencers worldwide.
We tracked and monitored tens and hundreds of marketing KPIs, but it was very hard to match them with real travellers behaviours.
We didn’t have any dependable tool to investigate the long term shift of perception of the destination, nor the impact of our massive campaign over the long tail of the industry offering, and much more…
So I started dreaming of creating such a tool.
And after founding Travel Appeal in 2014, we finally did it.
It’s called Travel Appeal Destinations, and we’re introducing it at PhocusWright Digital Innovation Summit in Dublin, May 2016.
